systech was founded in 2017 on a straightforward idea: businesses in this region deserved the same caliber of IT support that companies in Portland and Seattle take for granted, without having to import it.
Today our team runs managed IT, cybersecurity, business voice, structured cabling, camera security and software development out of our Roseburg headquarters and our Coos Bay office. Our co-founders lead that work directly, and they are on the escalation path when a call needs them.
We are big enough to cover every layer of our client's technology and small enough that they know the name of the person who picks up the phone or answers the email.
You don't need to know everything. You do need to want to learnit.
We're looking for someone with a technical foundation, goodtroubleshooting instincts, and the ability to work with actual human beings.
You don't need to walk through the door knowing every technology wesupport. You do need to be curious, willing to dig into problems, comfortable asking for help, and able to learn from the people around you.
If you want to build a serious career in IT, this is a place whereyou can do it. You'll work with a wide range of technology, learn fromexperienced technical professionals, and have opportunities to take onmore as your skills grow.
As a Level 1 Help Desk Technician, you'll be one of the people ourclients turn to when technology isn't doing what it's supposed to do.
You'll provide remote and occasional on-site support across avariety of business environments, troubleshooting Windows, Microsoft365, applications, accounts, printers, connectivity, devices, andother common technical issues. You'll also gain experience withnetworking, identity and access, backups, endpoint security, and thetools we use to monitor and manage client systems.
Sometimes the problem will be straightforward. Sometimes it won'tbe. Your job is to gather information, troubleshoot logically, resolvewhat falls within your level, document what you did, and recognizewhen it's time to involve a Level 2 Help Desk Technician or Systems Engineer.
Good escalation is part of good technical support. We don't expectyou to know everything. We expect you to learn from the people around you so that the problems you need help with today become problems youcan solve independently tomorrow.
The Person We're LookingFor
Being good with computers isn't enough.
Our clients depend on us to keep their businesses working. You needto be comfortable talking with people who may know considerably lessabout technology than you do. That means listening, asking goodquestions, explaining things without unnecessary jargon, and treatingthe client's problem as important.
We're also looking for someone who is curious and coachable.Technology changes, and there's always more to learn. You should becomfortable receiving feedback from managers and experienced technicalstaff and putting that feedback into practice.
Reliability matters. Our Help Desk is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m., and clients can start calling the minute we open. Your teammatesneed to know you'll be here and ready to work when your shift begins.Being on time, maintaining dependable attendance, and communicatingappropriately when something unexpected happens are basic expectationsof the position.
You should have a reasonable foundation in Windows computers, common business applications, and basic networking concepts such as IPaddresses, DNS, DHCP, wired and wireless connectivity, user accounts, and permissions.
Previous professional IT experience is helpful, but it isn't theonly way to demonstrate technical ability. Education, certifications, home labs, personal projects, self-directed training, customer-supportexperience, and other hands-on technology experience can all be relevant.
You do not need previous experience with every platform we use.Strong fundamentals, troubleshooting ability, communication skills, and the capacity to learn matter more than checking every technologybox on a resume.
Working for an MSP exposes you to technology across many differentbusinesses instead of a single IT environment. You'll encounterMicrosoft 365 and identity services, managed endpoints, businessnetworking and Wi-Fi, firewalls and VPNs, virtualization, backup andrecovery, cybersecurity tools, servers, cloud services, and more.
You'll also work with people across Systech. Level 1 Help DeskTechnicians regularly coordinate with Level 2 Help Desk Technicians,Engineering, Account Management, and Billing to make sure clientissues are handled correctly from beginning to end. That meanslearning not only how to solve technical problems, but how thedifferent parts of an MSP work together to take care of a client.
You'll have access to experienced Level 2 Help Desk Technicians andSystems Engineers who can help you develop deeper technical skills.Systech also provides paid training time, online technical trainingresources, and opportunities to earn company-paid industry certifications.
We're building a clear technical career path:
Career path describes typical progression; it is not a promise ofpromotion, a position, or a pay increase. Senior Technician is adistinct technician-track role; moving to Systems Engineer depends ondemonstrated engineering capability and is possible from Level 2 orSenior Technician.
The goal is to become increasingly capable and independent as yourknowledge and experience grow.
