Qualifications

  • Experience providing help desk support, systems administration, and end-user technical assistance in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Proficiency supporting Windows desktop and server operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, wireless networking, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Experience working in DoD, federal government, or contractor-operated IT environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with virtualization, cloud technologies, cybersecurity basics, vulnerability management, backups, and classroom AV technologies.
  • Active Secret clearance; TS/SCI eligible preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier I/II support for hardware, software, OS, network, printers, mobile devices, and collaboration tools.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve tickets submitted via phone, email, or in-person requests.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior administrators, engineers, or external vendors as appropriate.
  • Administer Windows workstations, servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, file shares, and enterprise applications.
  • Configure and maintain system security baselines and organizational standards.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and health.
  • Assist with network and classroom AV equipment and conference room tech.

Job Responsibilities For This Position Include
Technical Support and Customer Service
  • Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, network connectivity, printers, mobile devices, and collaboration tools.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues submitted through service desk tickets, phone calls, email, or in-person requests.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior administrators, engineers, or external vendors as appropriate.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and ensure timely resolution of user requests.
Systems Administration
  • Administer and maintain Windows workstations, servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, file shares, and enterprise applications.
  • Create, modify, disable, and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Configure and maintain system settings, security baselines, and organizational standards.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and operational health.
Network and Infrastructure Support
  • Assist with the administration of network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP services.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and support local and remote users.
  • Support audiovisual equipment, conference room technology, and classroom systems as required.
Security and Compliance
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply security patches, operating system updates, and firmware upgrades.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and compliance activities.
  • Maintain proper access controls and ensure protection of organizational data and information systems.
Asset and Configuration Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of hardware, software licenses, and IT assets.
  • Track equipment lifecycle activities including procurement, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and disposition.
  • Assist with hardware and software acquisition recommendations and implementation.
Documentation and Knowledge Management
  • Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, system diagrams, and configuration records.
  • Document incidents, service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions within the ticketing system.
  • Develop and update knowledge base articles to improve user self-service capabilities.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Verify successful completion of scheduled backups and assist with recovery operations.
  • Support disaster recovery and continuity of operations activities.
  • Participate in testing and validation of recovery procedures.
Project and Team Support
  • Assist with IT projects, system deployments, migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Participate in testing and validation of new technologies and software solutions.
  • Coordinate with network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, developers, and vendors to implement solutions and resolve issues.
Required Experience

  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms, cloud technologies, cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, backup and recovery solutions, and audiovisual/classroom technologies.
  • Ability to install, configure, maintain, and support IT equipment and infrastructure in office, classroom, and server room environments.
Certifications
  • DoD 8140/8570 compliant (Relevant education, technical training, and industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft certifications, or ITIL Foundation are desirable.)
Security Clearance
  • Active Secret clearance; TS/SCI eligible preferred.
Education
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry network equipment (up to 50 lbs.) as needed.
  • Ability to work on-site at the National Security Space Institute, including secure areas such as SCIF environments.
  • Occasional after-hours support may be required during assessments, inspections, or incident response activities.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role $70,000 to $85,000; however, Sigmatech considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, experience, education/training, key skills, location, and often contractual requirements.
