Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking a Helicopter Air Ambulance Pilot to provide medical air transport for REACH customers. The role requires current rotorcraft certification, instrument rating, and 2,000+ flight hours.

The position offers a 7/7 schedule, on-duty housing, a $15,000 sign-on bonus, and substantial retention bonuses. Compliance with FAR/REACH and ongoing training are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a rotorcraft FAA commercial certificate (current).
• Instrument helicopter rating required.
• Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• AS350/H125 EC130/H130 aircraft experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport REACH customers with a team of medical experts.
• Maintain aircraft readiness and comply with FAR and REACH requirements.
• Keep REACH and regulatory documentation up to date.
• Communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
• Provide shift change info and record changes on the REACH board.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.

HAA PILOT Full-Time Opportunity

We’re hiring a Helicopter Pilot to provide medical air transportation services for REACH customers. Safety is a key pillar of our services.

• Salary Range: $110,949- $122,044 including 25% Geographic Modifier
• 15K Sign-On Bonus, subject to eligibility
• Retention Bonus plans ($40,000 after 3 years plus additional retention bonuses once completed)
• On Duty Housing
• 7/7 Schedule

Responsibilities

• Working with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers to and from locations and facilities
• Ensure aircraft readiness for flight dispatches as described in the appropriate manuals, including all FAR and REACH requirements, and aircraft cleanliness duties
• Maintain accurate REACH and regulatory documentation and record keeping
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners
• Provide shift change info to successive pilot and teamfollowing protocol for recording A REACH change board details
• Accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training

Minimum Requirements

• Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate
• Helicopter instrument rating
• Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate
• 2,000 Total Flight Hours
• 2,000 Helicopter Hours
• 1,000Helicopter PICHours
• 1000 Turbine Helicopter Hours
• 200 helicopter hours night hours aided or unaided
• 230 poundweight limit with flight gear
