Job summary

CAE USA in Dothan, Alabama seeks a rotary wing instructor pilot to train USAF students under the IFT-R program. You will conduct initial flight training and instrument familiarization, coordinating with CAE leadership and USAF to maintain standardization and quality.

Role requires FAA helicopter pilot certification with instrument rating, current flight instructor credentials, and DoD rotary wing training experience. U.S.

Qualifications

• FAA-certified helicopter pilot with instrument rating and current status.
• FAA Certificated Flight Instructor Helicopter with Instrument Instructor rating (current).
• Graduate of US DoD Rotary Wing Instructor Pilot training (preferred).
• Prior US Air Force helicopter instructor pilot experience preferred.
• Total Flight Time targets: 1,000 hours with PIC/2IC; 500 turbine helicopter hours; 100 hooded/instrument/weather time; 75 hours night flying.
• Must have 500 hours of Flight Instructor time and experience in primary flight training or military initial flight training environments.
• Must possess and maintain FAA Class 2 medical certificate (current).
• U.S. citizenship required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct contact flight training and instrument familiarization for USAF IFT-R program at CAE Dothan Training Center.
• Coordinate with CAE IFT-R Chief Pilot, QA, and USAF to support standardization and training program.
• Ensure compliance with USAF, FAR, and other applicable standards; participate in Quality Management System and safety programs.
• Identify and implement process improvements; manage examiner/standardization plans and scheduling of audits.
• Interface with program stakeholders to proactively address quality assurance issues and ensure all requirements are met.
