Job summary

Nomadic Land Camps LLC is seeking a dependable person to provide on-site support for one of our mobile units stationed at a wildfire helicopter base in Omak, WA.

This seasonal position focuses on presence, readiness, and maintenance of equipment; you will keep the unit clean, monitor generators, and be available for standby tasks.

You will bill 8 hours per day as needed and must remain close to the helibase, without disrupting radio traffic, while maintaining a quiet, professional presence.

• Keep your phone nearby and remain within approximately 15 minutes of the helibase while on duty.
• Keep the exterior/support areas of the unit clean, organized, and presentable.
• Check the generator and other support equipment daily to make sure everything is operating properly.
• Immediately report equipment problems or anything requiring repair or attention.
• Make coffee each morning and provide occasional light hospitality or logistical support.
• Be available to handle miscellaneous needs that may arise throughout the day.
• Respect the operational environment of the helibase and the personnel working inside the unit.
• Remain visible and accessible without interfering with radio traffic or ongoing operations.
• Maintain a quiet, professional presence around incident personnel.

Job description

Must be able to start immediately. We are looking for a dependable person to provide on-site support for one of our mobile units stationed at a wildfire helicopter base in Omak, WA.

This is a unique seasonal position. It is not a helicopter operations position and does not involve working on or around aircraft. The primary responsibility is to remain close to the heli-support unit to keep our equipment operational and the unit clean, and be available when support is needed.

This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, self-directed, flexible, and comfortable with a job that involves a significant amount of standby time.

What This Job Is Really Like

This position is about presence, dependability, and readiness rather than constant productivity.

There may be periods when very little is required of you. That's okay. Your responsibility is to make sure the unit and equipment are taken care of and to be available when something is needed.

You will generally be authorized to bill 8 hours per day, even when the amount of active work required is less. If unusual circumstances require you to work more than 8 hours, additional hours must be approved in advance.
