Prince George’s County Government invites applications for a Heavy Automotive Technician I/II (Heavy Equipment Mechanic 1A) in the Fleet Management Division. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and servicing mid to heavy vehicles such as cars, vans, trucks, and buses under supervision of the Garage Supervisor.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of mechanical experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience or training in mechanical servicing and maintenance of heavy vehicles.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and service medium to heavy motorized vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on engines, drivetrains, electrical, fuel/emissions, and brake systems.
• Enter work orders and update the computerized maintenance system.
• May perform minor road repairs and tow disabled vehicles per policy.
