Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Heavy Truck Mechanic to perform maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles at a military installation. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and test vehicles to ensure safety and mission readiness, following manuals, specs, safety rules, and work orders. Must have CDL endorsements, a high school diploma, and at least two years of relevant experience.

You will use diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools, read wiring diagrams, and follow safety requirements. U.S.

Qualifications

• CDL with endorsements or equivalent.
• Minimum two years repairing heavy-duty trucks/diesel vehicles.
• Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams, and work orders.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; endorsements preferred.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and common repair tools.
• Must meet security/access requirements for a military installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, generators, tractors, trailers, and other vehicles/equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, guiding systems, brakes, electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Inspect vehicles to identify worn or defective components.
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical problems.
• Remove/replace/repair components and assemblies.
• Conduct road tests to verify repairs.
• Document inspections, labor, parts, and repairs on work orders.
• Notify supervisor for additional repairs or specialized support.
• Maintain tools and government property, keep area safe and clean.
