The State of Maine, Department of Transportation, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the Augusta Fleet Garage. You will diagnose and repair a wide range of heavy vehicles, vehicles and construction equipment, including electrical and hydraulic systems, testing and rebuilding components as needed.

Primary duties include diagnosing issues, performing rebuilds, and fabricating parts while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Formación

• Education, training, and/or experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, and/or construction equipment maintenance, repair, and diagnosis or another closely related mechanical field demonstrating competency in overhauling and rebuilding vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Identifying and correcting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and computerized system problems.
• Using specialized tools, equipment, and repair methods.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Repair, rebuild, rewire, replace, and fabricate parts for maintenance and rebuild of equipment.
