Job summary

Hughes Brothers Construction, Inc. in Central Florida is seeking a Heavy Truck/Machinery Repair Shop Tech to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and equipment, including diagnosing diesel/gas engines.

Responsibilities include repairing drive trains, electrical and hydraulic systems, using diagnostic equipment, and ensuring safety compliance. A flexible schedule and teamwork are valued at our established contracting company.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years as a heavy duty/diesel mechanic.
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
• Flexible schedule with strong attendance.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Repair drive trains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and other components on heavy trucks and equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to isolate mechanical failure and troubleshoot.
• Identify and solve mechanical and electrical issues such as motors, lights, air brakes, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy trucks and equipment.
• Operate vehicles to diagnose problems and to verify that the vehicle is repaired.
• Adhere to strict safety requirements and procedures.

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required
• Flexible schedule with strong attendance is required
