Job summary

Hughes Brothers Construction, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Truck/Machinery Repair Shop Tech to maintain and repair heavy trucks and equipment across Central Florida.

The role emphasizes diagnosing diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other components to keep projects moving smoothly. The position requires at least 2 years of heavy-duty/diesel mechanic experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years as a heavy duty/diesel mechanic.
• Able to stand, bend, squat, and lift to 40 pounds.
• Ability to listen, follow directions and a strong desire to enhance skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Flexible schedule with strong attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Repair drive trains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and other components on heavy trucks and equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to isolate mechanical failure and troubleshooting.
• Identify and solve mechanical and electrical issues such as motors, lights, air brakes, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy trucks and equipment.
• Operate vehicles to diagnose problems and to verify that the vehicle is repaired.
• Adhere to strict safety requirements and procedures.

The Heavy Truck/Machinery Repair Shop Tech is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and equipment, as well as diagnosing and repairing diesel/gas engines and heavy equipment.
