Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Truck Driver – Heavy to operate commercial and military-style vehicles in support of Army equipment movements. The role emphasizes CDL accuracy, safety, and meticulous documentation.

The driver will perform PMCS, load and secure cargo, and coordinate with the Transportation Coordinator and Site Manager on daily movements and turn-ins. A background check and adherence to DOT/Army standards are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Licensing: Valid CDL Class A or B as required.
• HAZMAT endorsement preferred/required if hauling hazardous materials.
• Army and DOT safety and documentation requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds to transport Army equipment and materiel.
• Support Army turn-in operations by hauling assets to site or designated locations.
• Assist with loading, securing, and unloading cargo using chains, binders, straps, and blocking/bracing.
• Conduct local and long-haul missions in compliance with Army movement requirements.
