Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL), an Akima company, seeks a Truck Driver – Heavy to operate heavy vehicles transporting Army equipment and materiel in support of turn-in site operations. CDL and compliance with DOT/Army standards are required.

The role involves driving, loading/unloading, and documenting movements, with site coordination for mass turn-ins and local/line-haul tasks. A valid state license, Real ID, and background checks are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A or B with HAZMAT endorsement preferred.
• Army OF 346 license preferred (may be obtained on-site).
• 3–5 years heavy truck driving experience; Army/contractor logistics experience preferred.
• Familiarity with military or government cargo movement desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds to transport vehicles, equipment and materiel.
• Assist with loading, securing, and unloading cargo using chains, binders, straps, and blocking/bracing.
• Conduct local and long-haul missions in compliance with Army movement requirements and DTR 4500.9-R.
