Job summary

SA Recycling LLC is seeking a yard associate in Pensacola, FL to load and unload trucks carrying scrap metal, inspect metal grades for inventory, and perform daily DOT operations and safety checks. You will communicate with the office and customers to determine loads, work independently when moving scrap metal, and help maintain a safe yard environment.

You will also assist customers, coordinate with colleagues, and perform routine maintenance and housekeeping tasks to keep the yard running

Qualifications

• Must pass medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass background check.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate with others effectively, understand directions (written or oral) and use basic math skills as job demands.
• Previous experience operating wheel loader is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
• Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
• Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
• Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities load.
• Work independently when driving scrap metal.
• Work with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise.
• Work with other employees in scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform daily operation maintenance: refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
• Clean up work area at end of shift.
