Job summary

Boston seeks a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator to operate five-ton class and larger machinery under general supervision. Responsibilities include operating a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, and similar equipment.

Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience, hold a valid MA CDL, and can work any shift. Pre-employment physical and drug tests are required, with CORI and SORI checks as part of the process.

Qualifications

Job description

Under general supervision, operates one of a variety of heavy and special motor equipment of five (5) tons or over. Makes minor adjustments to equipment and, when not driving, does related work as required.

• Operates a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
• Makes minor adjustments to equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience as a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator.
• Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts commercial driver's license.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
• Ability to operate a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
• Ability to make minor adjustments to equipment.
• Must be able to work any assigned shift in any assigned area.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to implement them while operating machinery.
• Pre-employment physical and drug tests are required.

Qualifications acquired on the job:

• Gain knowledge in operating heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and backhoes specifically for park maintenance tasks.
• Ability to adjust to different park environments and varying project requirements.
