Job Description

DUTIES:

Operates heavy motor equipment safely to perform tasks such as loading/unloading trucks, hauling materials, plowing and sanding sidewalks, recreational areas, parking lots, and highways. Performs minor maintenance, unskilled labor duties (e.g., digging, shoveling, painting, moving furniture, cleaning), assists other personnel, and removes snow/ice using manual or powered equipment. Supports carpenters, plumbers, and electricians as needed.

Position Details:

Primarily reports to the Building Division but may be assigned to the Parks Division during peak periods.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to interpret instructions and report to supervisors.
• Proficient use of trade tools.
• Good health, dependability, and capability for physical labor.
• Valid Massachusetts Class B driver’s license with CDL and a safe driving record.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Outside environmental conditions including wet, hot, cold weather; exposure to noise, vibrations, hazards, fumes, dust, and air contaminants.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand, walk, lift up to 75 lbs, push, pull, climb, reach, bend, and perform physical exertion for long periods. Good vision and hearing are required to operate equipment safely.

Salary: $1,197.95 weekly plus benefits
