Job summary

Henpen Corporation in Detroit, Michigan, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Mining Equipment) to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot the company’s fleet of haul trucks, loaders, drills, and conveyors. You will work hands-on in an industrial setting, applying problem-solving skills to keep machinery operating safely and efficiently.

The role requires 5+ years in an industrial/mining environment, a strong diesel certification, and the ability to read schematics and work under varied temperatures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; diesel mechanic certification preferred.
• 5+ years in industrial/mining environment.
• Experience with cranes, loaders, haul trucks, conveyors.
• Must read English; able to work under extreme conditions.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment.
• Operate and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects; dismantle and reassemble.
• Weld broken parts and structural members.
• Check and fill fluid levels, service lube points and perform maintenance.
• Inspect and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Turn in work log daily and complete paperwork accurately.
• Follow safety policies and communicate hazards or safety issues.
• Trouble shoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
