Job summary

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. is hiring a Heavy Marine Equipment Operator in Yonges Island, SC. The role requires 5+ years in a shipyard and experience with drydocking tugs, barges, and other marine vessels. You must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The position is full-time in a marine environment with strict safety rules, random drug testing, and an equal employment opportunity at-will policy. A TWIC, driver's license, and passport are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of shipyard experience.
• TWIC required (Transportation Worker Identification Card).
• Valid driver's license and a passport required.
• Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Must learn safety rules and comply with safety and pollution prevention procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-use inspection of all equipment operated and maintain it (fuel, oil, lubricants, cables, belts, hoses, etc.).
• Set up the marine railway and assist with other duties as required.
• Operate heavy marine equipment in a shipyard environment.
• Comply with safety and pollution prevention regulations and Stevens Towing Company policies.

This position requires one to have experience in drydocking tugs, barges, and other marine vessels. This position requires the employee to be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required and needed.
This position also requires one to perform pre-use inspection of all equipment operated and perform preventative maintainance to include but not limited to adding fuel, oil, and lubricants, cleaning and changing cables, filters, hoses, belts, fuses, and adjusting brakes, clutches, limits and similar equipment or functions. Also will be required to setup the marine railway and to perform other duties as requested or required.
Required to participate in random drug screens as a condition of employment.

Requirements
Must have a minimum of 5 years of shipyard experience, a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card issued by Homeland Security), a valid driver's license, and a passport.
Required to learn safety rules and become familiar with proper usage of safety equipment. Required to comply with all Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations and Procedures at all times under the direction of Stevens Towing Company, Inc.’s safety policies.
