Job summary

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. in Yonges Island, SC seeks a Heavy Marine Equipment Operator with 5+ years in a shipyard environment. Experience with drydocking tugs, barges and other vessels is required, and you must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.

The role includes pre-use inspections, preventative maintenance, and setting up the marine railway. You will also undergo drug testing and comply with safety regulations as part of employment.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of shipyard experience.
• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) issued by Homeland Security.
• Valid driver's license and a passport.
• Learn safety rules and comply with Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-use inspections of all equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance including fueling, oiling, lubricating and replacing worn parts.
• Set up the marine railway and perform related duties as required.
• Be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Submit to random drug screens.

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. has a full-time position available for a Heavy Marine Equipment Operator with 5 years or more experience in a shipyard environment. This position requires one to have experience in drydocking tugs, barges, and other marine vessels. This position requires the employee to be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required and needed.

Location: Yonges Island, SC Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive

This position also requires one to perform pre-use inspection of all equipment operated and perform preventative maintainance to include but not limited to adding fuel, oil, and lubricants, cleaning and changing cables, filters, hoses, belts, fuses, and adjusting brakes, clutches, limits and similar equipment or functions. Also will be required to setup the marine railway and to perform other duties as requested or required.

Required to participate in random drug screens as a condition of employment.
