Heavy Industrial Manual Machinist (Night Shift)(SC)

Synerfac is seeking a Manual Machinist for our client in North Charleston, SC. Our client specializes in solving complex industrial machining and fabrication challenges worldwide. Candidates should have experience with manual machinery and be proficient in bench work related to fabrication, maintenance, repair, and modification of machinery, parts, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities and Functions:

• Set up, adjust, and operate various machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, following instructions carefully
• Machine parts out of metal with precision
• Select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials safely
• Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling
• Determine the appropriate tools required for each task
• Operate lifting aids as necessary for work
• Use gauges and precision measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
• Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following safety procedures and regulations
• Work overtime as needed, including evenings and weekends

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• 5-10 years of related experience
• Familiarity with Heavy Duty Horizontal Lathes, Milling Machines, Boring Mills, and other heavy machinery
• Experience with turning, drilling, tapping, boring, honing, polishing
• Large part machining experience (e.g., ship propeller shafts)
• In-place machining experience
• Forklift and crane operation experience
