Branch Civil (BCI) is always searching for skilled, reliable, and experienced construction workers, operators, and professionals to join our well-established, growing company in the Stuart, VA area. We have a variety of opportunities in this region, including highways and site development.

This posting covers Laborers, Flaggers, Pipe Layers, Equipment Operators, Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Equipment Service Techs, and other field roles.

Qualifications

• Need positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements required within 60 days.
• 2–3 years of operator experience.
• DOT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow project instructions from the construction manager or supervisor.
• Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
• Follow all health and safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
• Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, pipe saws, grinders, jumping jack, and plate compactor.
• Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly.
• Comply with all BCI, OSHA, or other relevant safety rules and regulations.
• Conduct all business with a professional and respectful attitude.

We have a variety of opportunities in the Stuart, VA area.These future employee-owners will contribute to the Branch's successful completion of projects in the heavy civil construction industry, including highways and site development.

Duties/Responsibilities

Depending on position, duties could include some or all of the following:

• Follow project instructions from the construction manager or supervisor
• Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks

Physical Demands

The positionlifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands). The position requires the ability toquickly move arms and legs. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

40 hours per week. Schedules may vary based on project.
