Job summary

SimsHD Heavy Moving Solutions seeks CDL Class A drivers in Tampa, FL for yard-based work with occasional site travel. The company offers four levels of drivers, each with its own wage band and a clear path from Apprentice to Master Driver, plus opportunities to advance to Lead Driver or Supervisor.

As a driver you will operate trucks hauling oversized loads, perform pre/post-trip inspections, secure loads to FMCSA standards, and follow DOT rules.

Qualifications

• Current DOT medical card required.
• Clean MVR and ability to pass drug/alcohol screening.
• Ability to meet site-specific access requirements (TWIC).
• Heavy-haul, flatbed or lowboy driving experience is helpful.
• Experience ordering oversize load permits.
• Proven safety record and mentoring or training experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks and trailers hauling oversized and overweight industrial loads.
• Perform inspections (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
• Secure loads to FMCSA standards using chains, binders and straps.
• Follow DOT regulations, hours-of-service and ELD requirements.
• Plan routes with Dispatch considering load size, permits and restrictions.
• Communicate with Dispatch, customers, escorts, riggers and site crews.
• At senior levels: order oversize load permits, lead multi-truck moves, mentor and train drivers.
