Job summary

Priority Waste Resources LLC is seeking a Heavy Haul Driver to safely operate a tractor-trailer and related equipment hauling solid waste and recycling debris from our transfer station to the landfill, in Romulus, MI.

The role requires adherence to OSHA and DOT rules, a valid Class A CDL, a clean driving record, and professional communication with customers and dispatch. You will perform pre/post-trip inspections and help keep the vehicle in top condition.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL.
• 1 year of experience operating a heavy haul tractor trailer.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass physical and DOT drug screen.
• Must have a safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post trip inspections of the truck.
• Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements and all local, state, and federal laws.
• Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck several times daily.
• Communicates with customers as needed.
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of incidents.
• Maintains cleanliness and professional appearance of the vehicle.

Job Purpose

In your role as a Heavy Haul Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer truck and ancillary equipment on assigned route to haul solid waste/recycling debris from our transfer station to the landfill.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performspre and post trip inspections of truck


• Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws


• Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each day


• Professionallycommunicateswith customersas needed


• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents


• Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair/replacement


• Attends training programs, briefings, and meetings as required


• Immediately communicates mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor


• Communicates customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch
