Job summary

Dodge County is seeking a skilled welder/mechanic to perform maintenance and repair on trucks, graders, plows, and related equipment. The role includes welding, fabrication, hydraulic systems work, and field service, with safety to be observed at all times. Starting wage range is $29.73–$32.74 per hour.

Qualifications

• One year certificate/diploma in welding or equivalent with 3 years of related experience.
• Equivalent mix of education and work experience considered.
• Experience in repair/rebuild of construction equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and service of trucks, graders, plows and heavy equipment.
• Rebuild equipment using cutting, welding and fabrication as needed.
• Diagnose hydraulic, steering, suspension and brake systems.
• Repair bridges, signs, posts and weld components; maintain shop and field tools.
• Maintain welding equipment and safety procedures; respond to emergencies when directed.
• Pack and transport equipment to sites and assist with maintenance records.
