Job summary

S & S Paving and Construction, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Transport Driver to join our local team. The role involves hauling paving equipment, night shifts, long hours, and safety‑first operations.

You will travel to job sites, work up to 40 hours with potential overtime, and must hold a CDL with a clean MVR; you must be reliable, self-motivated, and a team player. Hazmat is not required but preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience hauling paving equipment such as CAT, John Deere, Ingersoll Rand, Volvo, Komatsu, Case and Terex equipment.
• CDL license with a clean MVR preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites, including nights and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate vehicles and trailers per local, state and federal laws.
• Haul paving equipment between job sites.
• Follow safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
• Work overtime as needed and maintain professional conduct on the road.

Heavy Equipment Transport Driver S&S Paving & Construction - Phoenix, AZ 85040

Looking for an experienced heavy haul transport driver to work 40 hours per week with overtime possibly available. Must have experience hauling CAT, John Deere, Ingersoll Rand, Volvo, Komatsu, Case, and Terex paving equipment. Need to be self motivating and a team player with a great attitude. Must be able to handle long hours and night work alone. Hazmat not required, but preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to operate vehicles and trailers in a safe manner, in compliance with local, state and federal traffic laws.
• Must operate equipment, machinery and other tools in compliance with safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications.
• Must be able to work outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Must be able to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment in a variety of different situations.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel and lift overhead.
• While working the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Work Experience and Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• (1) year to (3) years related experience is preferred.
• Ability to speak read and write English is preferred.
• Must be willing to travel to any and all jobsite without exception (including staying away from home if necessary.)

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• A current driver's license is preferred.
• Must have a clean motor-vehicle record if operating a Company vehicle.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
