Job summary

City of Memphis is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain heavy machinery, including front-end loaders, backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, and related equipment. You will interpret blueprints and manuals to determine parts and procedures.

The role requires three years of experience in major repairs, a valid Class B or Class A CDL, and compliance with DOT rules. Work is in a shop environment with exposure to fumes and noises.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in major repairs and overhauling of heavy equipment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class B CDL or Class A CDL (Tennessee or equivalent).
• Must comply with Federal DOT Alcohol and Drug testing rules as a condition of employment.
• May be required to complete competency tests for operating listed heavy equipment.
