Job summary

HarscoEnvironmental is the premier provider of material processing and environmental services to the global steel and metals industries. The Heavy Equipment Technician maintains, diagnoses, and repairs heavy mobile and stationary equipment in steel mill environments, ensuring reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience maintaining heavy equipment in industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, electrical controls.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply OEM service procedures.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy industrial equipment.
• Inspect mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems to identify issues.
• Repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulic components, and electrical systems per OEM specs.
• Document maintenance activities and work safely in steel-mill environments.
• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication as required (preferred).
