Job summary

Harsco Environmental is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Master Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of heavy industrial and mobile equipment operating in a steel mill and industrial site environment.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work independently in a demanding setting, with a base pay of $100,000–$115,000 plus annual tool allowance and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of experience repairing heavy equipment or related industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with diesel engine repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read service manuals, hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy mobile equipment (wheel loaders, excavators, material handlers, cranes).
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, braking, steering, and suspension systems.
• Use diagnostic software and testing equipment to identify faults and perform repairs.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records in CMMS.
• Perform field repairs and respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Ensure safety and compliance with company standards.
