Job summary

Fulton County seeks a Heavy Equipment Technician to service and repair heavy trucks and off‑road equipment, including inspecting, repairing, and maintaining such equipment. You will lead assigned staff, diagnose system issues, and ensure compliance with county policies and safety standards.

The role requires an associate degree in heavy equipment technology or related field, with CDL Class A and ASE preferred; 1 year of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in heavy equipment technology and 1 year of related experience.
• Valid Georgia CDL Class A with passenger and hazardous endorsements to obtain within 6 months.
• ASE certification for heavy trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides lead direction to assigned staff and manages workloads.
• Services or replaces components in heavy equipment systems.
• Troubleshoots and repairs brake, steering, electrical, heating/cooling, engines, and transmissions.
• Diagnoses off‑road equipment failures and performs maintenance.
• Loads/unloads/transports heavy trucks for maintenance; maintains records and cleanup at day end.
