Job summary

Republic Services in Seattle, WA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, diesel and gas vehicles, including compactors and loaders. You will diagnose mechanical issues, service electrical, hydraulic, and exhaust systems, and document work orders and parts usage.

The role requires ASE-related knowledge, one year of experience on heavy equipment, and OSHA safety training.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience with heavy equipment repairs.
• ASE and electrical diagnostics certifications required.
• OSHA HazCom and Lock Out Tag Out knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, compacts, and related vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Read repair orders, document parts usage, and track time.
• Record fuel, oil, and hours using fleet software.
• Communicate defects and preventive techniques to operators.
