Job summary

Sedgwick seeks a Heavy Equipment/Specialty Desk Appraiser to evaluate damage and prepare repair estimates for heavy equipment in insurance claims. You will analyze repair vs replace options, work with repair facilities, and ensure timely claim resolution.

Requires three years of experience, including at least one year with heavy equipment, strong knowledge of operating heavy machinery, and proficiency in appraisal software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Education & Licensing: High school diploma or GED required.
• Licenses as required.
• Three (3) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include at least one (1) year of heavy equipment experience.
• Thorough knowledge of operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to understand and utilize appraisal software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• PC literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Analytical and interpretive skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review photos, documentation, and other claim materials to assess damage.
• Prepare detailed repair estimates using approved industry-standard software.
• Evaluate repair vs. replace decisions and determine appropriate parts usage.
• Assess whether vehicles are repairable or should be deemed salvage.
• Collaborate with repair facilities to process supplements and update estimates.
• Negotiate scope of repairs and pricing with repair facilities.
