Job summary

Southeastern Equipment in Mentor, Ohio is seeking a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Shop-Based) to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy machinery. You will use laptops and diagnostics tools to test functionality and safety, interpreting electrical/hydraulic schematics, and ensure compliance with OSHA/EPA standards.

We value hands-on work, strong diagnostic skills, and a drive for ongoing training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in shop or field service repair.
• Strong diagnostic skills for electrical & hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostics tools and software.
• High school diploma or trade school certification; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of equipment (dirt movers, lifts, paving and milling machines, environmental equipment).
• Conduct functionality and safety tests.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and drivetrain issues.
• Utilize laptops/tablets to run diagnostics; interpret electrical/hydraulic schematics.
• Follow OSHA and EPA safety standards; stay current on training and manufacturer certifications.
