Job summary

Alta Equipment Group in Byron Center, MI is seeking a full-time heavy equipment shop service diesel technician/mechanic with diesel, agricultural, or heavy equipment repair experience. You will perform inspections, install optional accessories, and uphold Alta's guiding principles while working within a union setting.

The role requires strong knowledge of power systems, hydraulics, and electricals, with experience on Volvo Penta engines and with Volvo VCADS.

Qualifications

• Four years of heavy equipment or OTR repair experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of power systems repair experience.
• Volvo Penta engine experience preferred.
• Experience with military motor pool codes (63B/63H/63S/63W/63Y/91B/91H/91L/91M) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of power train, hydraulics and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete inspections.
• Implementation of optional accessories.
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance and being ready for work at start time.
