Job summary

ASCO Equipment in Brenham, TX, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC and electrical systems on-site.

This hands-on role offers on-the-job training and a clear path for growth within a family-owned and operated company with over 65 years of service.

You'll collaborate across departments, document repairs with computers, and deliver top-tier service in a fast-paced environment for our customers.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair (or technical certification/associate's degree).
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and work within time constraints.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
• Your own tool set for heavy equipment repair.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to handle loads up to 55lbs and maneuver around/crawl under equipment in order to conduct repairs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical systems—in the shop or the field.
• Perform planned maintenance and keep equipment running smoothly.
• Work closely with the Service Manager and other departments to meet customer needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, whether in the shop or on the road.
• Use computers and communication tools to document repairs and stay in sync with the team.
