Job summary

Opifex-Synergy is seeking a Service Technician in Houston to manage in-shop, repair, maintenance, and test tasks for heavy equipment. The role emphasizes diagnosing technical problems, communicating findings, and delivering reliable service across branch sites.

Candidate must have diesel equipment knowledge, own tools, and a valid driver’s license, with flexibility for on-call and travel to job sites. Benefits support ongoing career development and safety training.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
• Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition.
• Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections.
• Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assigned.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems.
• Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
• Communicate with coworkers to ensure top quality equipment is always available and customer expectation is exceeded.
• Must be able and willing to help train and assist other technicians in need of assistance.
