Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic to perform repairs on diesel-powered equipment, troubleshoot and maintain quarry/construction machines, and handle preventative maintenance on diesel engines.

Required: HS diploma or GED, valid US driver's license, and at least 5 years' experience with CAT/Komatsu/Volvo quarry equipment; trade school certification is preferred, CDL is a plus. This full-time role in surface and/or underground mine settings requires 40+ hours per week.

Qualifications

Job description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The individual hired into this position would be responsible for performing mechanical repairs on diesel-powered mobile equipment including troubleshooting and repairs of heavy equipment, rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment.

Essential Functions

• Ability to work safely at all times
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant mobile equipment including CAT, Komatsu & Volvo quarry/construction equipment/ diesel engines
• Mechanically inclined on a wide variety of hand tools and power tools
• Weld, cut and perform minor fabrication on plant or mobile equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Valid US driver's license
• Minimum 5 years of experience with CAT, Komatsu & Volvo quarry/construction equipment/ diesel engine repairs
• Certification from a trade school is preferred
• Previous mining experience is a plus
• Bilingual is a plus
• A CDL and a clean driving record is a plus

This is a full-time position that regularly requires 40+ hours per week in a surface and/or underground mine setting. This role frequently operates heavy equipment.
