Job summary

Republic Services in Meridian, MS seeks a Heavy Equipment - PM Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, ensuring safe, productive operations. You will inspect, service fluids, grease, and replace filters, and document work orders in the Fleet Management system.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of technician experience and the ability to use MS Excel for reporting. Training programs and benefits are provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills demonstrated by knowledge of MS Excel and word processing.
• During employment, a technician may be required to complete the Republic PM Program and the One Fleet Republic Way program or any other relevant and applicable training program
• Mechanical Trade School certificate or degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and basic repairs on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Inspects equipment for condition, operation and fluid levels; identifies problems.
• Power washes equipment as necessary.
• Checks and changes fluids for engine, transmission, differentials, final drives, and hubs.
• Greases, oils and lubricates components during PM service.
• Performs adjustments to various systems during PM service.
• Maintains and/or changes air, oil, coolant and fuel filters.
• Performs cooling systems maintenance.
• Checks safety equipment on vehicles and equipment.
• Inspects tires according to standards.
• Completes PM paperwork and logs parts usage and times.
• Inputs data into Fleet Management Software (Dossier).
• Drives equipment in and out of repair area.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
