Job summary

Las Vegas Valley Water District is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to transport and operate a variety of construction vehicles for water distribution and transmission line tasks. The role demands strict adherence to safety standards and the ability to work in diverse environments around utilities and traffic.

The successful candidate will perform pre-operational inspections, assist with maintenance and may fill in for Distribution crew tasks.

Qualifications

• Advanced journey-level experience operating light to heavy construction equipment.
• Experience in maintenance, repair and construction of water distribution systems.
• Nevada CDL Class A and Water Distribution Operator certificates or ability to obtain within six months

Responsibilities

• Operate and transport a wide range of construction vehicles and equipment, following safety and DOT/OSHA rules.
• Perform pre-operational inspections, minor repairs and keep equipment in good condition.
• Assist yard operations: loading, stocking and moving materials as required.
• Provide on-site expertise in distribution system maintenance and service line work as needed.
