Job summary

W.E. Beaty, Inc. is seeking an experienced Trencher Operator to join our footing crew in Indianapolis, IN. The role requires operating a ride-on trenching machine to excavate residential footings per layout specs.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Class A CDL, a current DOT Medical Card, and experience in residential concrete construction, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Clean driving record and ability to meet insurance requirements.
• Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one.
• Previous experience operating trenching equipment preferred.
• Experience in residential concrete or foundation construction preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and maintain punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Operate trenching equipment to excavate residential footings according to grade and layout.
• Supervise and direct the footing crew to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Safely transport trenching equipment and trailers to and from job sites using a CDL vehicle.
• Read and understand site plans, stakes, and layouts.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Help pour, place, and finish concrete footings as needed.
• Ensure trenches are dug to proper depth, width, and grade.
• Load, unload, and secure equipment for transportation.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, foremen, and crew members.
