Job summary

Alliance Construction is a locally owned contractor in Sioux Falls, SD, performing commercial earthwork, site prep, and underground utilities. This role focuses on operating heavy equipment, maintaining machines, and reading plans to prepare and build projects.

We value safety, reliability, and strong teamwork. The position is typically Monday–Friday with occasional out-of-town work and competitive weekly pay with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a bonus but not required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and work in all weather conditions.
• Able to work Monday-Friday with very minimal weekend work.
• Ability to work on projects in town and potentially out of town.
• Excellent hand-eye-foot coordination to operate multiple pedals, levers, and computerized controls.

Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Machinery: Safely maneuver twin-engine or single-engine scrapers and dozers.
• Machine Maintenance: Daily safety inspections and greasing equipment.
• Site Preparation: Cut, fill, and grade terrain to exact elevations.
• Occasional Hand Labor: Assist with general labor tasks as needed.
• Read Grade Stakes: Read and interpret construction stakes and GPS monitors.
• Read & Understand Plans: Read engineer plans, specifications, and regulations.
• Safety: Follow all safety procedures and address hazards.
