A construction company in Baton Rouge is seeking an Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for their construction division. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of heavy highway experience, a High School diploma, and reliable transportation. Responsibilities include safely running and maintaining equipment, performing minor servicing, and assisting with traffic control. Qualifications

Heavy Equipment Operator- Stabilizer

Barber Brothers Contracting Co., LLC, a road construction contractor, is seeking an Experienced Equipment Operator for our Baton Rouge Construction Division.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for our industry and have experience working on a road construction crew. The candidate will have working knowledge of a variety of equipment used for soil-modification and soil-stabilization.

The main duty of the Stabilizer Equipment Operator is to safely run and maintain equipment. The position is part of a crew that is responsible for various stages of large construction projects. The position requires consistent incorporation of the company’s safety initiatives into daily tasks.

Other duties include:

• Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance and refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Exercise safe working practices including use of required PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Two plus years of Heavy Highway Experience.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience working outside in various weather conditions, road preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from job site.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
