Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for a contract-based position in Cleburne, TX. The role supports solar construction sites and requires operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, telehandlers, and related heavy equipment.

The successful candidate will work on outdoor sites, perform site prep, grading, trenching, and material handling, and follow OSHA safety rules. This is a fully onsite opportunity with long shifts and potential travel based on project needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience in construction, solar, civil, or industrial projects.
• Experience operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, and telehandlers.
• Ability to read site plans and follow directions.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, loaders, graders, telehandlers, and forklifts.
• Perform site preparation, grading, trenching, and earthmoving activities.
• Assist with installation of solar racking systems and support structures.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials throughout the job site.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Follow project plans, specifications, and site safety requirements.
• Work closely with construction crews, foremen, and project managers.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Report equipment issues, hazards, or safety concerns immediately.
• Adhere to OSHA and company safety regulations at all times.
