Job summary

Sundt Careers is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to safely operate a range of machinery including backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks and water trucks. The role includes performing preventative maintenance and conducting pre-shift walk-arounds to ensure safe operation.

The ideal candidate will read and understand drawings and specifications, communicate effectively, and actively seek improvements in tasks and methods while supporting the crew with quality

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Experience with diverse heavy equipment and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain positive working relationships with crew members.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections are completed.
• Provide feedback on materials, tools, and information needed for work.
• Look for improvement opportunities and share knowledge with others.
• Maintain high proficiency in equipment maintenance and safety.
• Monitor subordinates' work for accuracy and compliance with plans.
