Job summary

Turner Mining Group seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to turn mine plans into moved earth, stripping overburden on schedule and loading ore with precision on active sites. You will work across surface mines, quarries, and heavy-civil sites, performing safety inspections and coordinating with foremen to keep the crew productive and safe.

Applicants must have proven seat time operating large equipment and be willing to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Proven seat time operating excavators, loaders, dozers, or haul trucks in mining or quarrying.
• Read grade stakes and mine maps to guide cuts, fills and load placement.
• Perform thorough pre-use inspections and report defects to keep equipment in service.
• Know pit traffic, spotting, berms, and exclusion zones with safe operation around people and blasts.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain MSHA or site certifications; willingness to work production schedules.
• Clear radio communication and log production, delays, and ground conditions at end of shift.

Responsibilities

• Run assigned excavators, loaders, dozers, and haul units to hit daily targets.
• Complete pre-shift inspections and report defects.
• Place material to survey marks so downstream crews receive rock in the right place.
• Work inside blast controls to avoid spills or ground failures.
• Cut idle time by coordinating with foreman, drill, and haul fleet.
• Finish shift notes on quantities, delays, and ground conditions.
• Support reclamation and earthworks by shaping slopes and final grade.
