Job summary

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc. in Perkasie, PA is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator. You will operate dozers, excavators, and loaders to meet daily production goals while adhering to safety policies. The job includes equipment maintenance, daily checks, and safe parking when not in use.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school OR six months of related experience and/or training.
• Able to pass a practical skills test for heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, and loaders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Mathematical skills: compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
• Understand and follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Problem solving.
• Fit test and use appropriate PPE as needed.
• Meet physical requirements for movement and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies.
• Operates heavy equipment to meet daily production goals.
• Maintains and parks equipment safely.
• Greases, checks fluids, and performs daily checks on machinery.
• Notifies foreman of maintenance or repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
