Job summary

State-of-South-Carolina is seeking personnel to operate herbicide application equipment and trucks, following the IRVM plan along roads and bridges in District 6. You will enter data into HMMS, perform quality checks, and assist with safety analyses.

You will also set up traffic control, perform pre-trip CDL inspections, and participate in maintenance and emergency response activities as required.

Qualifications

• One year of related work experience or equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required; Class A CDL within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Operate herbicide application equipment and herbicide trucks as per IRVM plan.
• Provide data to HMMS for operation and perform quality control checks on reports.
• Assist in safety meetings and complete hazard analyses before work.
• Place traffic control devices and set up work zones per SCDOT guidelines.
• Perform CDL pre-trip inspections before operating CDL vehicles.
• Assist in gathering data for daily, weekly and monthly reports and cost records.
• Assist in routine and preventive maintenance; respond to emergencies including weather-related hazards.
• Assist in gathering data for training and other departmental activities.
