Job summary

Job description

This position is located in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Position is based at the Red Lake Falls shop. Duties include, but not limited to, operating for snowplowing during winter months on assigned roadways with plow truck, operating truck with pup for graveling roadways, repairing and maintaining all operating equipment, and keep roadway systems safe for traveling public all year round and perform. Pay range $24.35-$33.71/hr. depending on experience includes a benefits package. This is a Union position with the I.U.O.E. Local No. 49.

Applicants must have a valid Minnesota CDL, Class A combination, be able to hear audio alarms and warning devices, lift 50 lbs., and be available for overtime in winter months with long hours and a short notice for reporting to work.

1. Perform maintenance activities necessary to ensure that the roadway systems are kept clear of snow and ice during the winter months. This position will mainly operate a plow truck.
2. Perform maintenance activities necessary to ensure that the roadway systems are kept in a safe condition for the traveling public during the summer months. This position includes graveling roadways with a truck and pup trailer.
3. Maintain operating equipment and tools.
4. Ensure that all county safety and administrative requirements are met so that records of work and material used are maintained.
5. Perform maintenance activities as requested.
6. Assist in installing new signing so that the safety and convenience of the motoring public is assured.
7. Install temporary signing so that motoring public is aware of detours or construction areas in the county.
