Job summary

The City of Westfield is seeking a Special Heavy Motor Equipment Operator for the Department of Public Works. You will operate and maintain heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, rollers, and loaders in daily operations, with attention to safety and logs.

Required are a valid CDL Class A license (and related hoisting licenses or ability to obtain within six months), a high school diploma, and at least two years of related full-time experience. This is an outdoor, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license and any required hoisting licenses or ability to obtain within six months.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related full-time work experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains dump trucks, backhoes, rollers, loaders, and other equipment.
• Undertakes general labor in conjunction with highway and sewer supervision.
• Service equipment with fuel, oil, or coolants and perform minor repairs.
• Perform required vehicle and equipment safety checks.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment operating logs.
• Work may include manual labor tasks.
