Job Overview

Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, and other construction machinery to perform various tasks on heavy civil construction projects in Houston, TX.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to project specifications and company policies.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tires, and other components, and report any maintenance needs.
• Dig, trench, grade, backfill, and move materials as directed by project supervisors.
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper care and maintenance of assigned equipment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other personnel on the job site.
• Assist with other general labor duties as needed to support project completion.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating various types of heavy civil construction equipment (e.g., excavators, dozers, loaders, graders).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents.
• Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
