Job summary

MWH Constructors seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for Track Excavator to support a wastewater treatment plant project in Austin, TX. The role focuses on safe operation, earthmoving, and equipment maintenance on a major industrial site.

Ideal candidates have 1-3 years in heavy equipment operation, understand load charts, and hold a valid driver's license. Pre-employment screening and drug tests are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of excavator/backhoe/forklift as required.

MWH Constructors a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator Track Excavator to support a critical wastewater treatment plant construction project in Austin Texas

Essential Functions

• Safe operation of excavatorbackhoeforklift
• May build level and excavate land surfaces using graders and other construction equipment
• Knowledge of the excavatorbackhoe loading requirements; load charts; critical picks
• Perform duties with an awareness to avoid overloading obstruction of equipment movement working with overhead utilities etc
• May operate and maintain window aerationcomposting relating equipment
• Maintain daily temperature of compost
• Prepare soil samples to send laboratory
• Change adjust replace andor sludge spreading implements
• Effectively communicate to all site personnel
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage maintenance etc
• Daily maintenance of equipment
• Identify report and correct hazards
• Perform tasks maintaining all health safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the work environment

Basic Qualifications

• 1 3 years experience as a heavy equipment operator
• Comprehend documents such as safety rules operating maintenance instructions load charts and procedure manuals
• Working knowledge of equipment capabilities and limitations
• AWWA andor large diameterlarge bore piping
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Documentation must be provided at time of application
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Ability to understand technical instructions
• Knowledge of load bearing capabilities of all equipment
• Good understanding of fluid mechanics and all of the components involved in these processes
• If requested the applicant shall furnish a written statement from a medical doctor that heshe has had a physical examination in connection with the application and is physically fit to perform the work
• Required to communicate information ideas directions with the capability to perform the task or project discussed
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory and with utmost regard for safety
• Pre employment drug screening and background checks required
