Job summary

United Rentals is hiring an Equipment Operator – Matting Solutions in North Canton, OH. You will operate heavy equipment safely, perform inspections, and maintain logs. The role requires reading plans, coordinating with ground crew, and working extended hours in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; fluent reading/writing in English.
• Valid driver’s license and clean record.
• 1–3 years operating multiple heavy equipment types on large projects.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and inspection principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety checks and inspections with documentation.
• Participate in routine maintenance and proper storage of equipment.
• Maintain clear daily logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel and observe safety rules.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in all weather.
• Follow ground signals and coordinate with ground personnel.
